Terraces Story China Tea (TSCTEA) originates from Yuan Yang County in Yunnan, an area where the locals have grown and harvested tea for generations. The tea fields are 1,800 meters above sea level, a natural ecosystem with lush forests and abundant rainfall. The tea trees that grow on high altitude mountains with billowy clouds are unrivalled; this is because these clouds veil the fiery rays of the sun while still wrapping the tea trees in a warm embrace. Every leaf is nature’s gift and every sip of tea is reminiscent of the toil of thousands of Hani folks. Not only are these Yuan Yang big-leaf tea trees grown on lands that are free of pollution and pesticides, they are also fully handpicked for processing. As such, the harvested tea leaves are highly sought after.
In 2016, Jolin Li, a native of Honghe Prefecture, chanced upon these tea fields and decided to lease these tea fields for 30 years in order to lead the villagers out of poverty by introducing these teas to the world. Her understanding of tea cultivation grew with her love and admiration for the people and their culture. Thus, she established the Terraces Story Tea Factory in Yuan Yang in 2018 and achieved the Greenfood standard in 2020. By 2022, she had obtained the Organic Product Certification for all the tea leaves harvested and processed in the factory. In 2023, she founded TSCTEA in Singapore to bring the teas all over the world.
